Prof. Pourang Irani – Topic: Bio-Digital Convergence Technology

Pourang Irani is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus, where he holds the position of Principal Research Chair in Ubiquitous Analytics. His research is centered around Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Information Visualization, with a specific emphasis on creating and validating in-situ user interfaces: interactive methods and systems that empower end-users to efficiently access information "anywhere" and "anytime." His pioneering work has garnered recognition through accolades at prestigious HCI conferences and mainstream media outlets. Driven by a passion for translating research outcomes into consumer-ready technologies, he actively collaborates with industry as a scientific advisor. More recently he co-founded UBC's Okanagan Visualization and Interaction Lab, dedicated to designing and implementing intelligent interactive systems for everyday use.
